A Message from the Chapter President

Greetings Sorors and Guests,

 

Welcome and thank you for visiting Nu Beta Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

 

This chapter was chartered on June 27, 2020, in the midst of challenging times during the BLM (Black Lives Matter) movement and the Worldwide COVID-19 Pandemic. As Nu Beta Sigma moves through its 3rd year, it is continuing to execute the vision of its founders, the Sororities Mission, and the Chapter's impactful programs that continue to support and bring positive changes to Queens, NY communities.  This year Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. will celebrate 100 years of “Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service”.

 

It is our goal to continue to create strategic partnerships that will support the needs of the borough in which we serve. We will strive to provide education through our workshops, local programming, civic awareness, health advocacy, and leadership development. Our mission will always be to uplift and enhance the quality of life within our communities and with this in mind, it is our hope that you will consider partnering with us to work to create and support initiatives that align with our organization’s vision.

 

I encourage you to learn about affiliate clubs as well who support us in bringing forth our community initiatives. Our affiliate clubs are composed of our Rhosebuds (ages 8-11), Rhoers (ages 12-17)  and Philo Friends (those women who chose not to pursue a 4-year degree). We were blessed to have our inaugural Philos, and Rhosebud affiliates in 2022 and our wonderful young Rhoers will soon follow.
